Yongala Gold Project, SA

The Yongala Gold Project is 100% owned and is located in a prospective gold exploration region in South Australia with potential for gold, copper, silver and rare earth element mineralisation.

Historic exploration across the project area identified multiple copper and gold occurrences associated with specific stratigraphic sequences, consistent with sedimentary copper systems, while broader exploration programs also highlighted potential for other base metal and rare earth element mineralisation across the tenement package. The project area is highly prospective for the discovery of new deposits similar to the Kanmantoo copper mine operated by Hillgrove – 19.3 Mt at 0.77% Cu for 149,000 T of Cu to the south of Adelaide.

Previous drilling and surface sampling confirmed the presence of mineralisation within favourable host rocks, demonstrating the prospectivity of the project area and the potential for multiple mineralisation styles. Historical exploration programs returned encouraging copper, cobalt, silver and rare earth element results, including rock chip assays of up to 6.2% Cu, 0.33% Co and 0.35% TREO.

Drilling completed by CSR Limited intersected broad zones of copper and lead mineralisation associated with oxidised zones containing malachite and azurite, including 32 m at 0.15% Cu and 0.25% Pb.

More recent exploration confirmed additional high-grade copper and silver mineralisation, including rock chip results of up to 10.8% Cu and 57.1 g/t Ag, together with elevated rare earth element anomalism of up to 0.35% TREO. These results support the potential for multiple mineralisation styles within the project area, including possible carbonatite-related systems analogous to nearby regional projects.

Tarrina is advancing Yongala through geological interpretation, geochemistry and regional targeting programs designed to better define the mineral potential of the project area and generate targets for future exploration.
